Sacrilege is a large, inflatable version of Stonehenge.
Sacrilege is an art piece by Jeremy Deller and opened Glasgow’s International Festival of Visual Arts. The inflatable piece is only in the city for the duration of the festival (20 April 2012 – 07 May 2012) and can be found on Glasgow Green; after this time it will move to London to form part of an exhibition as part of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
This is Deller’s first major public project in Scotland. Speaking to the BBC, he confirmed that Sacrilege was intended to be interactive and that “It’s a big public thing in a public place. Hopefully people will respond to it in a Glaswegian manner.”
